No Problem."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Short, Effective Circuits for Busy Women<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I created Caroline\u2019s Circuits because I wanted to make strength training accessible to all. I am so passionate about the benefits of strength training and how much it can impact our lives. I wanted to make sure that time wasn\u2019t a barrier to get started, and most importantly, stick with it. Most of us realistically do not have time for a 60-minute workout. Between work, school runs and the endless to-do list, it would be easy to think, <em>\u201cI\u2019ll just skip today.\u201d <\/em>if you\u2019re short on time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You really don\u2019t need a lot of time to get great results<\/strong>. With smart, focused circuit training, you can build strength, boost your heart rate and leave a workout feeling accomplished &#8211; in as little as 10\u201320 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why Circuits Work So Well for Busy Women<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First of all, for anyone who doesn\u2019t know, <strong>circuit training<\/strong> is a sequence of exercises done back-to-back with little rest.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have two options when it comes to circuit training. You can target different muscle groups in turn, so you can keep moving without over-fatiguing one area for example shoulder press followed by rows. Or you can target a specific muscle group in a short circuit then move onto another group in a different circuit to really challenge those muscles (see my 10 minute series for this particular burn!) for example shoulder press followed by frontal raise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Efficient:<\/strong> You can achieve strength + cardio in the same session. Or target a muscle group effectively<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scalable:<\/strong> Works for beginners or seasoned exercisers<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Flexible:<\/strong> Use bodyweight, bands or dumbbells<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Portable:<\/strong> Can be done at home, in a hotel, in the gym or outside<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Structure a Short Workout<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A smart circuit has:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Compound moves<\/strong> work multiple muscles at once<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Core stability<\/strong> work the deep core muscles<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Optional cardio bursts<\/strong> to raise heart rate<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General format:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>30\u201345 seconds per exercise (or 8\u201312 reps)<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>15\u201320 seconds rest between exercises<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeat 2\u20134 rounds<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Here are some of my favourite short and sharp circuits<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Circuit 1: Full-Body (15 minutes)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Warm-up (2 minutes):<\/strong> March in place, arm circles, bodyweight squats<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Try to do 3 rounds:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Squats<\/strong> \u2013 12 reps<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Push-ups<\/strong> (wall, knees, or floor) \u2013 8\u201312 reps<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bent-over rows<\/strong> (dumbbells or band) \u2013 10 reps<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plank with shoulder taps<\/strong> \u2013 8 taps each side<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jumping jacks or fast marching<\/strong> \u2013 30 seconds<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cool-down:<\/strong> Gentle hamstring, chest, and shoulder stretches<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Circuit 2: Upper Body Focus (10\u201312 minutes)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Warm-up (1\u20132 minutes):<\/strong> Shoulder rolls, wall push-ups, arm swings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do 3 rounds:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Push-ups<\/strong> (wall, knees, or floor) \u2013 8\u201312 reps<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bent-over rows<\/strong> (dumbbells or band) \u2013 10 reps<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overhead presses<\/strong> (dumbbells or band) \u2013 8\u201310 reps<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bicep curls<\/strong> \u2013 10 reps<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tricep dips<\/strong> (off a sturdy chair or bench) \u2013 8\u201310 reps<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cool-down:<\/strong> Shoulder stretch, triceps stretch, chest opener<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Circuit 3: Lower Body Focus (10\u201312 minutes)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Warm-up (1\u20132 minutes):<\/strong> March in place, hip circles, gentle squats<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Try to do 3 rounds:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Squats or wall sits<\/strong> \u2013 12 reps<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reverse lunges<\/strong> \u2013 8 reps each leg<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Glute bridges<\/strong> \u2013 12 reps<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Side leg lifts<\/strong> \u2013 10 reps each leg<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lateral lunges<\/strong> \u2013 12\u201315 reps<br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cool-down:<\/strong> Hamstring stretch, quad stretch, seated hip opener<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Here are my top tips for Getting the Most Out of Short Workouts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Go all in<\/strong> during your work periods &#8211; quality over quantity.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Progress gradually<\/strong> by adding resistance, extra reps or extra rounds.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Minimise distractions<\/strong> &#8211; set a timer and focus until the circuit\u2019s done.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rotate workouts<\/strong> weekly to hit all muscle groups consistently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s on the platform at Caroline\u2019s Circuits?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the regular 4 x per week 30 minute classes you have access to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>20 minute kettlebell series<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fit in 10 &#8211; ten minute series\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Core in 15\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 10 &#8211; ten minute series\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>15 minute series<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Beginner series\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7 day kickstart challenge\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abs blast series<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>My Key Takeaway<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Short circuits, done consistently, add up to lasting strength, better fitness and more energy for everything else in your life.
